How to get to Haltia Lake Lodge from Helsinki city center and the airport?

Traveling to Haltia from Helsinki is easy with public transport. From Helsinki Central Railway Station, take the local train E and get off at Espoo Central Station (“Espoon Keskus”), where you switch to bus number 245A towards Kattila (the bus stop is next to the tracks). The stop to get off is called "Haltia." The entire trip, including transfers, takes approximately 55 minutes. Route Map

From Helsinki Airport, you can take the local train to Myyrmäki Station, where you switch to bus number 530. Continue to the Ikea Espoo stop, where you switch to bus 245A towards Kattila. How much does a taxi cost from Helsinki city center or the airport to Haltia Lake Lodge?

A taxi ride from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Haltia Lake Lodge and back costs approximately 80-95 euros each way, depending on traffic, the number of passengers, and the taxi company. The price is similar from Helsinki city center.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in starts daily at 3:00 PM, and check-out is required by 12:00 PM the next day.

How can I book the sauna, what are the available times, and what are the policies?

All room rates include access to the morning sauna; detailed times can be found in the Sauna menu. The evening sauna can be booked for private use daily between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The cost is 50€/50 minutes (including 1-4 people). Sauna reservations can be made on our website with the accommodation booking or afterwards via email at info(a)haltialakelodge.com or by calling +358-40-5444707.

What is the difference between Lodge Queen and Twin rooms?

Queen rooms have one single bed, while Twin rooms have two separate beds that can be combined into a double bed. See photos and detailed information on our booking website.

My flight arrives late at night, how do I get the key if there is no night duty?

Please inform the reception in advance of your late arrival. We use a key box, where we will leave the key and provide instructions on its use via email.

Are pets welcome?

Pets are welcome! The pet fee is 25 euros per stay, which includes a maximum of two pets. The fee includes a water bowl, a towel and a small treat bag. Pets are allowed in all our glamping tents and in all ouf our premises (including Bistro). Restaurant Haltia at the adjacent nature centre also allows pets.

Are family rooms or extra beds available?

Our rooms and glamping tents are all intended for a maximum of two people, and extra beds are not available. Smaller children can sleep with parents at no extra charge. All our rooms are close to each other – inquire about the possibility of a separate room for children!

Do the glamping tents have heating?

Our glamping tents are in use year-round and are equipped with an air-source heat pump that heats in winter and cools in summer. For the coldest weather, the tents also have an efficient infrared heater.

What are the bathing facilities like in the glamping tents?

The glamping tents do not have showers or running water. Shower facilities are available in the hotel building; please arrange this with the reception. The tents are equipped with a Biolan Icelett composting (freezing) toilet and water for hand and teeth washing.

Is Haltia Lake Lodge accessible?

Haltia Lake Lodge has been renovated from the former Solvalla Sports Institute facilities, and unfortunately, the accommodation is not fully accessible. The Lake Lodge Bistro, meeting rooms, and terrace are accessible, and both Lodge buildings have accessible restrooms.

What are the dining options in the area?

Nuuksio National Park is a nature destination, and dining options are more limited compared to urban areas. Haltia Lake Lodge Bistro offers straightforward, high-quality dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, with the kitchen open from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM (daily during summer, see the “Bistro” section for detailed hours). No table reservation is needed.

Villa Solvalla student restaurant at Solvalla Sports Institute, next to the Nature Center, serves lunch Monday to Friday from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Bus 245A takes you from Haltia to Espoo Center (approx. 25 min), where there are a few restaurants.

Are gluten-free options available for breakfast and dinner?

We offer gluten-free options. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions in advance.

Note that the minimum number of participants for most tours is 5-6 people, so the price for a private tour is generally based on that number, even if fewer people participate.

Where can I rent a mountain bike, fatbike, or canoe? What about other equipment?

In the Haltia area, e-fatbikes can be rented from the Finnish Nature Center Haltia: Haltia Rentals. You can also rent tents and camping stoves from Haltia. We suggest wearing sturdy, waterproof hiking or trekking shoes along with weather-appropriate clothing

Are there any campfire sites near the hotel?

Are there swimming facilities in the area? Is there a winter swimming possibility?

There is a cozy sandy beach at Solvalla, about 400 meters below Haltia Lake Lodge, which is freely available to hotel guests. Is there swimming access from the Haltia Lake Lodge sauna?

The nearest swimming beach is about 400 meters from the hotel, so it's not a short walk from the sauna. Solvalla Sports Institute also rents a lakeside sauna.

Is there a grocery store nearby?

The nearest grocery stores are located approximately 12.5 kilometers away in Mikkelä (Lidl, K-Supermarket).
