A unique nature venue in the heart of Nuuksio National Park

Opened in August 2025, the Scenic Hut (Maisemakammi) is Haltia Lake Lodge’s newest nature venue – a place where architecture, open-fire dining and Nordic wilderness come together. The structure blends seamlessly into the forest: curved wooden frames, a moss-covered roof and nest-like shapes create a space that feels grown from the landscape itself. The hut opens directly towards the dramatic shores of Lake Pitkäjärvi.

Designed by architect Malin Moisio, the Scenic Hut draws inspiration from ancient Nordic shelters and the mystique of Finnish nature. It is a cosy retreat built for togetherness – a place where people gather around an open fire to share moments in the middle of the forest, only 30 minutes from Helsinki.

At the heart of the hut is a large open fireplace, offering warmth, atmosphere and the possibility for authentic open-fire cooking all year round. The glass structure protects from wind and weather, providing comfort in both summer evenings and deep winter. There are extra heaters used in winter as well.
